offers a four-year Masters’ level acting programme and a Bachelors’ (three-year) programme for directing and dramaturgy with a subsequent Masters’ (two-year) programme.
The basic principle of its existence and pedagogical activity is in the traditional theatre language of European drama as a peculiar phenomenon of theatrical culture. The departure point for this principle is dramatic action, which creates stage action through its metonymicity that is close to “real” human behavior. This central principle is applied in relation to dramatic literature (drama as a specific kind of literature) that is transformed in this way into a staged structure.
Naturally in this context, other principles of pedagogical activity at the Department of Dramatic Theatre are interpretation and work with the word in both written and spoken form.
